Cutler Associates announced the creation of a new Scholastic Division, which will focus on providing integrated design and construction solutions for academic and institutional clients.
The new division will be led by Roderick C. Shaffert, P.E., LEED AP, who has been named to the position of Vice President. In his new role, Mr. Shaffert will oversee specialized project teams dedicated to servicing clients within this marketplace to efficiently address their needs for quality designs, tighter budgets, shorter schedules, and more sustainable buildings. Mr. Shaffert has worked for Cutler for more than 20 years and has held a wide-variety of positions including project manager, account executive, and vice president of Cutler Florida. He is a resident of Westborough, Mass. and a graduate of the University of Vermont and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
“We are very excited about the launch of the Scholastic Division for two reasons,” explains Ed O’Brien, Executive Vice President of Operations at Cutler Associates. “Not only will it allow the company to better service our customers by providing specialized and dedicated project teams, it also enables us to offer additional career paths and opportunities for our associates.”
Several additional key appointments were made in support of the new division. Michael Bass, AIA, LEED AP was promoted to Vice President of Cutler Design, Cutler’s in-house architectural firm. Mr. Bass has specialized in design for the education market since joining the firm over 15 years ago as design project manager. Mr. Bass holds a Master of Architecture degree from Oklahoma State University and is a resident of Maynard, Mass.
John DeVito was named as Director of Preconstruction, Scholastic Division and Tiffany Gallo was promoted to Estimator. Mr. DeVito joined Cutler Associates in 2007 as a senior estimator, bringing over 25 years of experience in the construction industry. A resident of Bradford, Mass., Mr. DeVito holds degrees from Wentworth Institute of Technology and Anna Maria College. Ms. Gallo began her career at Cutler in 2004 as a co-op and has since held the position of junior estimator. She is a graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology and resides in Worcester, Mass.
