Christopher Heights Assisted Living Honored With AGC and ABC Awards
Cutler Associates was recently recognized with two industry awards for its role as construction manager on Christopher Heights Assisted Living in Marlborough, Mass.

The Associated General Contractors (AGC) of MA honored Cutler, together with architect SMOOK Architecture & Urban Design and owner The Grantham Group with a 2009 Build New England Performance Award at its annual awards celebration on October 1. This unique awards program recognizes the constructor, owner, and designer equally for their professional roles, expertise, and collaborative working relationships in developing, designing, and building successful buildings.

Further recognizing the success of the project, the team was presented an Eagle Award for Excellence in Construction from the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Massachusetts – a nationwide program held annually to publicly recognize quality and innovation in construction.

Christopher Heights of Marlborough, an 83-unit assisted living project, reclaims a long-abandoned and contaminated site formerly occupied by the Frye Boot Factory. The project team collaborated closely with the owner to design and construct a facility that supports the owner’s mission of providing quality care within an affordable platform. The 55,400-square-foot complex includes 50 units for low- to moderate-income seniors and is designed to resemble the many great Victorian summer homes built along the coast of New England in the late 1800’s. The steel-framed building was constructed within an 11-month time frame and opened in 2008.
