Fred Mulligan Named to MassPort Board of Directors
|
Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney recently appointed Frederic H. Mulligan, P.E., president of Worcester-based Cutler Associates, to the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Port Authority. In a ceremony held in the Governor’s office August 15th, Mr. Mulligan was sworn in to the Port Authority’s seven-member board.
The Massachusetts Port Authority (MassPort) is an independent public authority which oversees Boston Logan International Airport, the Port of Boston, the Tobin Bridge, Hanscom Field, Worcester Regional Airport and the development of MassPort-owned property in Boston and throughout the state. The MassPort facilities employ more than 20,000 people and generate more than $8 billion for the region's economy every year.
“I am honored to be appointed and enthusiastic about the opportunity to serve on the MassPort board,” said Mulligan. “The economic development and future competitiveness of the New England region is a vital issue for me, and for professional service companies like Cutler. The ability to participate as a catalyst for economic growth is tremendous,” he said.
Mr. Mulligan is president of Cutler Associates, a planning, architecture and construction firm with offices in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Florida. The firm, founded in 1972, was recently named one of the Top 400 Contractors in the U.S. by McGraw-Hill’s news magazine Engineering News Record.
Mr. Mulligan also serves on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Alliance for Economic Development and the Worcester Municipal Research Bureau. He is past president of the New England Region of the Design Build Institute of America (DBIA), and a frequent author and speaker on the design and construction industry. He is a graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), where he earned his M.S. in Business Management and a B.S. in Civil Engineering. He is a registered professional engineer (PE) in Massachusetts and a designated design-build professional by the DBIA.
